Therefore antibacterial prophylaxis has become a routine clinical practice despite its role in the new-drugs era has to be defined. • We performed a post-hoc analysis of 224 patients treated with thalidomide based combinations in order to: • assess time, type and outcome of infections • search for factors affecting onset of infections during induction and build a risk model in order to perform targeted prophylaxis.
