Terminal Vetting Database WG • Issue:- • Enhance Safety Ship/Shore Interface • Aim:- • Check before • Report afterwards • Objectives:- • Continual improvement • Terminal Interaction Reports available on members website
Terminal Vetting Database • The Terminal Vetting Database upgraded & is now hosted by www.Q88.com in partnership with INTERTANKO (as approved by Council) • Access restricted to members & associate members • 1 page report form • Simple • User Friendly • Terminal Feedback
Low Score reports of 1 or 2, INTERTANKO sends an automated email to the terminal requesting Terminal Comments
Vetting Clause WG • Issue:- Unreasonable and arbitrary clauses • Aim:- Clauses and commentary to assist Members v Charterers • Objectives:- • Collect clauses • point out the pitfalls • Develop model clauses

TMSA WG • Issue:- TMSA is a requirement members have to deal with. • Aim:- Give I/O members support and assistance • Objectives:- • Info on, individual OM requirements • Work with OCIMF on TMSA 2 revision • Provide Benchmarking facilities as per TMSA

Benchmarking Initiatives • LTiF Benchmarking - Expected Winter 2007. • Officer Retention Benchmarking - Under review and & construction by the TMSA working group
Detention Statistics & Age Issues WG • Issue:- Access to PSC information Age related issues • Aim:- Get info and pass to members and use for I/O initiatives. Overcome age discrimination • Objectives:- • Collate, present, warn, advise the I/O membership • Use in transparency & quality debates with OM, PSC, IMO, etc.
Sire Inspector WG • Issue:- Getting access to a SIRE inspector has become a problem. • Aim:- Maximise utilisation of inspectors to reduce delay and expense • Objectives:- • Establish inspector locations and who they work for.
Officer Matrix WG • Issue:- “Time in Rank” criteria which industry cannot comply with. • Aim:- Co-ordinate a response to deal with compliance issues. • Objectives:- • Collect Industry information • Develop alternatives • Represent the industry on the issue.
Vetting Publication WG • Issue:- Confusion on OM’s requirements for Vetting • Aim:- Produce helpful publications • Objectives:- • Promulgation of Vetting information to the membership • 7th Edition A Guide to The Vetting Process available Autumn 2007.
Tanker Officer Training Standard WG • Issue:-“Time in Rank” Requirements -“Time With Company” Requirements • Aim:- Develop industry standard Develop possible alternatives to Oil Major requirements • Objective:- Complete by April 2008. • Establish a Training Standard to Address a) Competence, b) Regulation shortfall, c) Oil Major requirements d) Ease Compliance with Officer matrix • Work with Oil/Cos to get commonality
PSC Issues are addressing • Harmonisation of Detention Reviews Panels • Harmonised Targeting systems • Common Inspector standards • Cooperation of statistical analysis • Continued cooperation with MoU’s • Promotion of Best Practices • Development of Best Practices
