Objectives Provisional: • Combos:Make combos to keep your time up and score big points. End Game: • Survival: Run out of time
Features • Special Atoms:When used in a combo they can affect the play area in different ways.
Challenges • Time: As time ticks down it affects the play area by shaking and rotating. • Rotation:A rotating game board is ready to break up any potential combos. • Solids: Solids can’t be used in combos, potentially blocking off sections of the board.
Gameplay • Bonds: Connects atoms together to form molecules. Connect 3 or more together to complete a chain. • Specials: When a special is used in a combo, it will transform the molecule into a “special attack” for extra points. • Mode-Specific: • Survival: Race against the clock
Testing Methods • Observation: Players don’t always remember everything they thought. • Questions: Data we can objectively compare. • Interview: Players have thoughts beyond what we’re going to think ask them directly.
Testing – Fellow Students(Interview/Observation) • Players didn’t like the controls • Players wished they could “back up” from selections • Players Wanted to know when rotations would happen • Players needed significant help to learn the game
1st Testing Cycle Changes • Instruction Screen • Got rid of middle mouse button • Moved game timer to center • Changed center timer to show time till next rotation • Added collision ring
