You may use your book if needed. • Character vs. character conflict • Character vs. self conflict • Character vs. supernatural/fate conflict • Character vs. nature OR society conflict • Irony • Put the events in order on the TMP handout. • Fill in the boxes with the plot stages. • Next to the events listed, identify the one that you think is the narrative hook (NH) and climax (C). • DO NOT PLACE THE EVENTS ON THE PLOT DIAGRAM YET!!!!

Hint: There are two on the first page! • What mood (emotion being evoked) is present in (a) the beginning of the story, (b) the morning after the 1st wish, and (c) the night the 2nd and 3rd wishes are made? (d) How does the SETTING (time and place) impact the mood for all three of these? • Identify another example of irony. Explain why it is ironic!
