  2. Need for an ETP: • Used and Contaminated water from Washings are a Pollution Problem and Hazardous to living beings. • After some time the effluent starts emanating a foul smell

  3. Source of Effluent: • Milk Tanker Washings. • Can Washings • Floor Washings • Process Equipments Washings. • Silos Washings. • Handling Persons Bathing.

  4. Major Contaminants: • Suspended Solids, since the process is done in open environment. • Milk– Causes BOD and COD. • Milk Products– Causes BOD and COD. • Detergent Solutions, since the process requires hygienic environment
