Happy new year to all and best wishes for 2013! I hope that a wonderful Christmas was enjoyed by all and that the children had a well deserved rest. I’m sure that the children will continue to work very hard this term and continue to embrace their learning with their usual high level of enthusiasm. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate in contacting me. Thank you for your continued support. Mrs Schaffer Literacy and Reading We will begin this term by studying persuasion where pupils will have to encourage their reader or listener towards the same way of thinking. They will have to demonstrate clear communication both orally and written to put their thoughts and opinions across to others. There will be a constant focus throughout literacy sessions on grammar which will also be followed through in homework tasks. Please continue to encourage regular reading at home and note reading in childrens’ reading diaries. Homework will continue to be given out each week on Mondays to be handed in on Fridays. Homework club is available for all pupils during lunchtime on Thursdays. If your child does have any difficulties with their homework, please encourage them to come and ask me for assistance so that misconceptions can be addressed.
