  19. TENNESSEE GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL The State of Tennessee provides 12 summer programs for gifted and talented students. These programs provide challenging experiences in: Arts, Agricultural Sciences, Business and IT Leadership, Computational Physics, Emerging Technologies, Engineering, Humanities, International Studies, Prospective Teachers, Sciences, Scientific Exploration of Tennessee Heritage, and Scientific Models and Data Analysis.  Governor’s School is open to current 10th and 11th grade students. Applications for the Tennessee Governor’s Schools are available online http://www.tennessee.gov/education/instruction/governors_schools.shtml or in the Counseling office.  Applications must be returned to the Counseling office two weeks prior to the deadline set by the schools.

  27. NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award Graduating Seniors who operate their own small business are eligible for the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award. Award: non-renewable scholarship. Range from $1,000 to $15,000. Apply online at www.NFIB.com/YEA Deadline: December 18th

  36. Clemson University Lyceum Scholars Program Award: Up to $10,000 distributed over four years. Honors College Scholarship The Buchanan Fellowship Award Eligibility: Apply to MTSU, high school GPA of at least 3.5, ACT composite score of at least 29 (SAT 1280), and completed Buchanan Fellows Application. Benefits: Full tuition (up to 16 hours), $1,000 book allowance, consideration for study abroad scholarships, support for graduate or professional schools. Application is available in the Counseling Office and the Career Counseling Office. Deadlilne: December 1st

  40. Tennessee Concrete Association High School Essay Contest Award: $250 to $50. Rules: Open to high school students ages 16-18 at the beginning of the 2014 -15 school year, follow essay specifications.
