Eliminating Membership Roadblocks • No time to visit two different meetings • Meetings emphasize planning and not doing • Creating a social requirement before joining can be off-putting
Rethinking the Membership Sign-Up Process The Old Way The New Way • Speak with a Lion • Note meeting dates/time • Attend meeting #1. • Wait 2 weeks + • Attend meeting #2. • Be sworn in, get vest. • Write check. • Volunteer. Speak with a Lion Write check and give contact info. Volunteer.
Link Lions to the Outside World Via the Internet • Members can stay connected online • Members can share their experiences with friends and neighbors • Fixes time crunch issues of young working professionals • Costs little/no money to clubs! • Requires only a few dedicated Lions to maintain.
Let’s Rethink How We Run Meetings To keep our new network of volunteers organized, we’ll need Board Meetings that coordinate our community efforts and go to work prepping our club for its busy service projects.
