About us • We are students of the Jewish Foundation School. • When Our science teacher, Ms. C assigned us this project we immediately thought of radiation problems. • We hope you find this power point educational and will be aware of the amount of radiation that enters your body per day. • ~ enjoy

John Cooper • John Cooper is a Senior Reliability and Quality Engineer, with experience in toys, industrial equipment, alternative energy systems, wireless telecom products, audio and acoustic equipment. He has worked in start up companies (alas, he's not gotten rich from these), as well as larger firms. He has a BSEE and MSEE from MIT, and MBA, and is a Certified Reliability and Quality Engineer (ASQ). I have worked on devices similar to that described in this project. As such, it is exciting to see a project focused on a project that will contribute to the needs of students while being environmentally friendly !
Our Problem • How to reduce radiation that enters your body with the use of cell phones. • We chose this idea for several reasons: • We want to stress how important it is to be aware of the danger of radiation. • We want to help the world prevent extra radiation from entering the body.
Why is radiation so harmful? • Many people do not know, but radiation from the cell phones may cause several types of cancer. • Part of the radio waves emitted by a mobile telephone handset are absorbed by the human head. • If I were you, I would start limiting the use of my cell phones. What do you think?
Solution one • To assemble a cell phone case made of materials that have the ability to prevent most of radiation. • This case will not cover the spot on the phone where the radio antennas are located which gives us service • Some of these materials that this case will consist of are Demron ( a type of fabric) and specks of lead.
Solution two • To invent a device that is used for the car as a replacement to the conventional blue tooth. • This device will have a speaker at it’s base with two electrical wires. One will be attached to the cell phone. The other one will be a microphone that will clip onto any surface that the driver wishes. • This device will turn on automatically when the car is running.
Solution three • This solution is not inventing another device however improving the blue tooth. You may not have known this but blue tooth as well gives off radiation. • To improve it we would coat it with a thin lead coating. • This would block out radiation thus, aiding our cause.
The chosen one • We chose solution two as our chosen one. • It was chosen because solution one would be to complicated to make and would be very expensive. Solution three would not work either because the lead would block out the signal , causing no connection to the phone. • Solution two however is easy to use, doesn’t give any radiation and on top of that, very efficient.
This solution also does not run on battery. It also does not die out and turns on immediately when the car is turned on. • The device does come with an off button and does not have to be running all the time.
