  2. Session Learning Objectives • Participants name four different methods for HTC. • Participants describe appropriate and inappropriate roles for PCVs in supporting HTC activities.

How does HTC Work in Prevention? • Informs of HIV sero-status • Provides HIV/AIDS information and risk reduction counseling • Greatest impact on those testing HIV positive • Reduce sexual partners • Increase condom use (esp. in sero-discordant couples) • Link to care and support • For HIV negative • Some partner reduction • Links to prevention services (e.g., VMMC)
