  2. My father was the first one in his family to come to America. Here is Dad and his sister shortly after coming to America. Here is Dad with his grandmother and mother shortly before coming to America. Dad was eight years old when he came to America.

  3. My father came to America for Freedom. • When my father was little the Czech Republic was not a free country. • It was a Communist Country and people had to do what the government told them to do. • People could not even travel out of the country. • He escaped to America, so he could be free.

  4. My father came to America from the Czech Republic in 1968. Prague is the capital. My father lived in Prague. The Czech Republic is in Central Europe.

  5. Prague is a beautiful city.

  6. They speak Czech in the Czech Republic. It is a small country in Europe. It is about the size of Ireland, and could fit in the United States 122 times. It has mountains and rivers and beautiful lakes, but no ocean. They eat lots of potatoes, dumplings (knedliks), pork and cabbage. They really celebrate Christmas in a big way with lots of Christmas trees and good food. All About the Czech Republic

  7. My grandmother, grandfather and auntie Laura came to America with my father.

  8. Dad’s first house was in Providence, Rhode Island. This is Dad’s first house and car. Here is Dad in his first bedroom. This is Dad’s bathroom. Here is Dad and his mother. This is Dad and his sister.

  9. I have many relatives living in the Czech Republic. This is my Dad when he was two years old and his father, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

  10. I also have relatives living in Scotland. This is my Auntie Laura and Uncle Richard. These are my cousins, Aran, Erika and Rhiannon with my brother Brennan and I at Longwood Gardens a few summers ago.

  11. All About Scotland • Scotland is also in Europe and is north of England. • They speak English and Celtic in Scotland. • The capitol city is the old city of Edinburgh. • Scotland is as far north as Alaska, but is located in the Atlantic Ocean. • They eat Haggis, Potatoes, and Fish and Chips.

  13. These are my Great Great Grandparents on my Grandfather’s side and their children. They lived in Austria.

  14. These are my Great Great Grandparents on my Grandmother’s side. They lived in the Czech Republic.

  15. My Great Great Grandparents owned an airplane. They lived in the Czech Republic. This is my Great Great Grandmother.
