What is plastic? • Plastic is the general common term for a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials used in a huge, and growing, range of applications. • It is almost found everywhere including our houses • The term ‘’plastic’’ is derived from the Greek word ''plastikos'' meaning fit for moulding • There are two broad categories of plastic materials: thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics

  5. IMPACT OF PLASTIC ON OUR ENVIRONMENT • It has a disastrous impact on marine life. It kills many sea animals. • It is non-biodegradable and pollutes the land. • It affect our food chain . • Over 250 species have been known to have ingested in plastic • There has been a drastic increase in marine litter

  6. The conclusion we derive from this presentation is to limit the use of plastic as along with being useful it is harmful.
