  1. Bell Work: August 20, 2012 Pick up the “Inference” worksheet on the back table. We’ll go through it together.

  2. Objectives • Define “inference” and draw conclusions from text evidence. (SPI 5.1) • Define: conflict, irony, point of view, theme, and figurative language such as simile and metaphor.(SPI 8.1)

  3. EOC Prep Bell Work—August 20, 2012 • Grab a “Hunger Games Intro” sheet off of the back table and answer the first two questions!

  4. Bell Work—August 21, 2012 Directions: Name the part of speech of each word in the following sentence: Go often to the house of thy friend, for weeds choke the unused path.

  5. Objectives: • Use inference in text; • Identify irony by type within the text; • Use text evidence to justify your response; • Identify theme in text and explain your reasoning. • (SPI 5.1, SPI 8.1-8.3)

  6. Stations • You will have 7 minutes per station. • Complete as much as you can at each station. • Please help each other. Let me know if you’re all having problems. • Stay on task and you can get most of your stations completed! • Yes, each person must have their own textbook. No, you may not leave it in the classroom.

(HINT: Which two kinds of reality TV?) • Do you like watching reality TV? Why or why not? Give two reasons.
