Things you should know about an IP Telephone system • The IPitomy system has many of the same features of traditional business telephone systems. • The telephone has some new functionality that streamlines the way your phone operates. • Some of the features you will recognize from past business telephone systems you have used before. • Some of the features you may recognize from cell phone technology. • While you may have to get used to a new set of features and functionality, it won’t take you long to appreciate the new technology and get the most out of it.
What is so different about IPitomy? • The system runs on the LAN. It shares the network with all of the other devices like PC’s, printers and routers. • The phones can be unplugged from the LAN and plugged in anywhere and the phone extension number stays the same. • Phones can be configured to work anywhere there is a broadband Internet connection; including from anywhere outside the building.
What should I expect with my new phone? • Your new phone will have many of the same features. • Transfer, park, call pickup, etc. • Some of the features are new: • Missed, Answered and Dialed call tracking • Call forwarding to mobile phones • Single button for call transfers. • Voice Mail to Email • No need to put a call on hold to answer another line; just press the line key and the caller is automatically put on hold. • Much more…

LCD DisplaySoft Keys • Your phone can have 20 soft keys. You can see 5 at a time. • Soft keys can be set up as feature keys for features like call pickup or call forwarding. • Soft keys can monitor the busy status of up to 5 other extensions. When the busy lamp is flashing, you can pick up that persons call. Active Line Indicator Extension Number Extension Name Caller ID Call Timer Soft Keys LCD DisplayWhile on a Call Inbound Caller ID Name and Number Shows what line is being used. Use the arrow keys to navigate to other lines, or simply press the line key. This is the phones extension number. This is the name of the extension user. Elapsed time of the current call. Soft Keys can be programmed as features, speed dials or busy lamp status indicators.

Press Add New to add a new entry Detail Search Add New Delete Quit Phone Book To access the phone book press the phone book key. Your phone will store a record of each missed call that rings to your extension. The missed call record is the name and number as it is available from the telephone service provider. The call information can be stored in the phone book for dialing out. Numbers can be entered and edited in the phone book too. To exit the phone book, press quit.
Line Keys Each line key represents a separate call on your phone. If you place a call on hold, the line key will blink while the caller is holding. To transfer a caller, it is not necessary to put them on hold first using the hold button. Just press the transfer key and the first call is automatically placed on hold. Dial tone will be heard on the second line and any number can be dialed. You can press the transfer key again to blind transfer the call or wait for the other party to answer. After the other party answers, you can press the transfer key again or just hang up.
Making a CallNew Technology Improved Performance 2068950102 Your new phone is based upon IP technology. It works similar to a cell phone with some of the same features of a traditional business telephone. Dial Backspace Quit For best results – DIAL NUMBER FIRST After dialing: Pick up the handset or, Press the speaker button for a hands free call. The speaker button also enables the headset. Press the speaker button two times to enable the headset. Pressing a line key will start a hands free call too. When dialing before going off hook, you gain the advantage of having the backspace key. You can also dial by picking up the handset or pressing speaker and dialing the number.
LCD DisplayIdle Display • The LCD Display shows voicemail status, missed calls, busy lamps, speed dials and feature soft keys. • The display shows how many new/old voice mails are in your voice mail box. • The Blue message waiting light indicates new messages are in your mailbox. • Missed Calls are kept on the missed calls list. Press the Service button to view missed, answered and dialed calls. Missed calls can be easily returned by just selecting the missed call and pressing dial. • Date and time are synchronized with an Internet Time Server for maximumaccuracy.
While you are on an active call, press the transfer key. You will receive dial tone from the next available line. Dial the number you want to transfer the call to. Wait for the other party to answer. When the other party indicates they would like to take the call, press the transfer key or just hang up. If the other party decides not to accept the call, press the drop soft key or press the original line key. You now have the original party back on the line. How Do I Transfer a CallAttended Transfer
How Do I Transfer a CallBlindTransfer • While you are on an active call, press the transfer key. You will receive dial tone from the next available line. • Dial the number you want to transfer the call to. • Press the transfer key again to release the call to the dialed extension.
How Do I Transfer a CallTransfer to Voice MailIf you want to send a call directly to voice mail bypassing ringing the parties extension • While you are on an active call, press the transfer key. You will receive dial tone from the next available line. • Dial a * followed by the extension number whose voice mail you want to transfer the call to. • Press the transfer key again to release the call to the dialed extension’s voice mail.
Parking a Call Use Park when you want someone else to pick up this call. The Park pickup keys light up on all the telephones indication a live parked call. If you answer a call and the party wishes to be connected to someone and you are not sure if that party can accept the call or may be away from their desk, place the caller on park by pressing the park key once. The system will tell you by speaking what park button the caller is parked on. Then you can either call or page the party and inform them that they have a call parked on pickup 1,2,or 3. The park pickup light will be illuminated on all phones until the call is picked up. The call can be picked up by anyone. To get the caller back, press the appropriate park pickup key.
Voice mail The voice mail button provides direct access to your voice mail messages. Press the button once and the system will ask for your password. When your blue message waiting indicator is flashing, you have voice mail messages waiting. The display on your phone will indicate how many new messages and how many old messages are in your voice mail box.
Pause Pressing the pause key once will put your phone in do not disturb mode and all incoming calls will be sent to your voicemail. While your pause key is enabled, you busy lamp will be on indicating that you are not available to receive calls. Pressing pause again will turn the feature off.
Hold To place a call on hold, press the hold button once. To remove the call from hold, press the flashing line key where the call originally came in. Calls are automatically put on hold when you press the transfer key or press another line key.
ConferenceMaking a three party conference Once a call is established, you can create a three party conference. With the first call on the line, press the Con key. You will receive dial tone from the next available line. Dial the number you wish to conference in. Press conference again. All three parties are joined together. User Tips To end a call, press the hang up key. To page another party press ** followed by the other parties extension number. This will cause a speaker phone page. To page a group of people, press the appropriate group number. All parties in the group will receive the page. To pick up a parked call, press the appropriate park pickup key. Remember that it is not necessary to put a call on hold to transfer the call. Just press another line key or press the transfer button. The caller will be placed on hold automatically. When placing a call, dial first then go off hook by picking up the receiver or pressing speaker. If you go off hook first before dialing, remember to press the dial key.
