  1. Macintosh vs. PC Why I believe that PC is inferior to Macintosh. Jeremy E. Smitley

  2. Price Many people are led to believe that Macintosh computers are either to expensive or they are not worth the money that you put into them. This I believe is false. When you look at the styles and variations that the Mac has, you will see very few compared to the variations that its counterparts Dell and Sony have. This is due to the fact that although the price could be much cheaper, this goes along with the performance of the computer. For instance, I bought an HP for $1000 about two years ago, the computer was great but there was one problem, the given video card and ram were insufficient to match the needs of the OS widows vista. As you can tell, they are cheaper due to the lack of hardware to run there own operating system. Compare the macbook, this runs for around $1000 dollars also, but the difference is that the macbook could run its OS leopard. So you tell me which one should be more expensive.

  3. Support When it comes to support, I find it hard to believe that pc could be as prestigious and sufficient as Mac is. Due to the way that the Mac OS is set up, there is less to jumble around to find the problem than what there is with Mac. Also Mac prides themselves in the reliability of a good computer, so much that they offer a insurance that from what I have seen is far superior to that of PC. Apple care is not only cheaper to insure your computer but the longevity of the insurance lasts for three years and most companies for PC only last for about one year. Also from personal experience when I had issues with my Imac, we I talked with customer service and they were able to send me a brand new computer, no questions asked. How is that for support?

  4. Security Security is a big issue for most computer users these days, whether it be opening emails, surfing the internet, or even purchasing things. It is a wide known fact that there are about 60,000 viruses out there that can affect the windows OS, but for Macintosh there are no known viruses that can do the damage that all of these have done to a PC nor even effect them at all. The last major virus that was supposed to come out was the conficker virus, unfortunately this virus affected no Mac but it was aimed toward PC users instead.

  5. Overview In my opinion there is no argument on which OS out works the other, I have given you the three main reasons why I believe that Mac is superior to PC. This is however only one persons opinion but these three facts are facts that are to be looked at when buying a new computer. Yes they may be a little more expensive but is that little expense comparable to buying a new computer when you PC crashes? Ill let you decide.
