  1. Smart Farming in India The Third Green Revolution, also known as Smart Farming, is the implementation of contemporary Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into agriculture. This Third Green Revolution, which follows the plant breeding and genetics revolutions, is transforming agriculture thanks to the application of various ICT solutions, including precision machinery, the Internet of Things (IoT), sensors and actuators, geo- positioning systems, big data, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, drones), robotics, etc. Based on a more precise and resource-efficient strategy, smart farming has the potential to produce more productive and sustainable agricultural production. However, whereas up to 80% of farmers in the USA may employ some form of SFT, just 24% do so in Europe. Applications for "smart farming" are not limited to large, conventional farming operations; they could also serve as new levers to support other prevalent or expanding trends in agricultural production, such as family farming (small or complex spaces, particular cultures, and/or cattle, preservation of high quality or particular varieties,) organic farming, and enhancement of very respected and transparent farming in accordance with European consumer, society, and market consciousness. Environmental concerns can also be greatly helped by smart farming, for instance by using water more effectively or by maximizing inputs and treatments.
