The ability to simulate the human senses—all five of them—can turn a computer into a gateway to uncharted territories. All that stands between you and a fantastic virtual reality experience is processing power and content. We've only scratched the surface of mass-produced consumer headsets, which companies will employ to pitch ideas and sell wares to customers. Real-world use of augmented reality (AR) in construction and design is already commonplace, and not just among independent builders. City planners and councils can utilise this technology for environmentally responsible growth and development.
