Welcome Back! ¡Bienvenido!
New life and new victory in relationships require us tobe-leave in Jesus. We have to leave our old relationship attitudes & patterns.
Then Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” . . . The dead man came to life and came out . . . Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes[the old] and let him go.” (John 11:43-44)
God’s new beginningsrequire us to take offold ideas of what makesa great relationship.
Growing In Greatnesstaking off our old attitudesfor God’s new beginningsMark 10:35-45
Then the disciples James and John came to Jesus and said “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask . . . Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory”[we want to be great] (Mark 10:35-37)
Then Jesus said to all of them . . . whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. (Mark 10:43-45)
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)
1. Take off “compromise” and grow in conviction “must be your servant . . .”
Then Jesus said to them all:“If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” [Luke 9:23]
2. Take off “as you can” and grow in consistency “must [always] be . . .”
Then Jesus said to them all:“If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” [Luke 9:23]
“great people do consistently what others do occasionally”
When we grow in Jesus-centered conviction and consistency, God’s greatness begins to show in our lives!
“Busy is just another word for lazy! You’re letting the people around you dictate your life instead of doing the hard work of planning and following through. Anything you good in life is uphill.”[“Great By Choice”]
3. Take off “getting” and grow in giving “must be your servant . . .”
Greatness is not about being served but about serving. It’s not about gathering but giving.
God’s greatness comes whenwe KEEP GROWING in . . . Jesus-Centered Conviction Jesus-Centered ConsistencyJesus-Centered Giving
4. Take off isolating in old relationships and grow in new Jesus-Centered community“must be your [plural] servant . . .”
The great irony of life:The reason our relationships never get better is because they are the only ones we have!
