Rationale • Policy provides framework for improvement of the quality of teaching and learning, research, outreach programmes and qualifications • Programme Review (link to academic cycle) • Annual monitoring • Periodic academic audits • Links other UNIMA strategies, policies, processes • UNIMA–wide: Senate; APC/ACC; etc. • College Committees
Policy secures monitoring and review of key UNIMA provisions • Curriculum development • Evaluation of teaching and learning • Implementation of quality standards • Development of academic programmes • Student services and support • Research and outreach • Staff development and training • Teaching and learning resources • Responding to external QA requirements
Continuous learning and improvement • Programme Reviews - teams appointed by Dean • Relevance and value of Programme • Programme performance • Student centred approach • Annual reviews - teams appointed by Dean • Programme performance • Academic Audits - teams appointed by QA Director/Pro-VC • To assure and support quality improvement • Guidance documents – policy appendices • Important to document and minute issues • Important to follow-up and monitor follow-up

Link QA to UNIMA Strategy • QA will ensure quality improvement for: • Teaching and learning • Research and ensure national relevance thru programme review • QA process will identify • Capacity needs • Management and Finance needs • Process improvements • M&E to link QA and Strategic Plan indicators • Requires buy-in and implementation by ALL staff
