3. The climate of Ukraine is determined by its geographical location.
4. As you know our country is situated in the south-eastern part of central Europe rather far from the Atlantic Ocean.
5. But it lies close to the large continent of Asia that's why it was a moderate continental climate, being subtropical only on the southern coast of Crimea.
6. The characteristic features of the climate are four seasons, annual snowfalls, occasional rainfalls in autumn.
7. The climate varies not only from north to south, but also from the north-west to the south-east the warm damp air masses moving from the north-western Atlantic weaken become drier.
8. In general the climate of Ukraine is mild and warm, with a long summer and a short winter.
9. The Carpathians and the Crimean Mountains protect country from the bitter steppe winds.
10. The climate along the coasts of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov is much warmer than the climate of the rest of the country.
