Orthopedic surgeons said that about 20% of newborns are born there fingers can not own fully extended, is characterized by the thumb clenched together, and if not given proper treatment, this may be in the first two years are notdisappear.   2. 板機指的症狀是手指不能自行完全伸展，需要用另外一隻手來協助將其扳開，而在扳開時會有卡住的感覺。

  3. 板機指症狀可依據嚴重程度來分成四級，比較輕微的是有關節彈響或手掌處疼痛，需要用另一隻手來協助將其扳開，而比較嚴重的有可能會造成指節間關節攣縮彎曲，甚至是會不能伸直。

  4. 據骨科醫師表示，有二成左右的新生兒一出生就有手指不能自行完全伸展的情況，其特徵是拇指會緊握起來，如果沒有給予適當的治療，這情況可能在兩歲前都不會消失。

  5. 因為這種新生兒的板機指成因並不明確，所以當父母的要多加注意，以免影響其日後的手部發育和成長。

  6. 如果發現新生兒有手指不能自行完全伸展的情況，在一歲以前，父母應固定每天讓小嬰兒的拇指伸展，這樣做的話約有三成的機率會得到痊癒。

  7. 如果必須要動手術來治療板機指的話，則建議在一歲之後，因為兒童在一歲以前，血管及神經等構造比較難分辨，造成組織受損的機率會比較高，實在沒有必要去冒這樣的風險，以免造成一些後遺症。
