  1. Types of Propaganda Continued… October 1st 2009 INTIAL TASK: Take out the TYPES OF PROPAGANDA handout from yesterday OR grab a copy from the front table. Look over the handout and/or finish reading through the different varieties of propaganda.

Today’s Agenda Objectives/Goals: • Understand and identify different forms of propaganda. • Analyze digital media to reveal and deconstruct implicit messages. • Use online resources to access info and organize ideas/research. • Review Propaganda Types on Handout • Demonstrate bookmarking techniques (computer, delicious) • Break into groups of three and complete propaganda scavenger hunt • Reflect and share samples. • Homework & Looking ahead.

  3. Types of Propaganda Scavenger Hunt 1. In your desk teams, search online (online newspapers, magazines, advertisements, news clips, radio clips, etc.) looking for examples of at least seven different types of propaganda. 2. Choose the types of propaganda you want to focus on. Try to find at least one example of each. Make sure you either “bookmark” or record your finds so that you can find them again. 3. Be prepared to share your best examples with the class – clearly labeled..

  4. What’s In Store!!! Gasp! Homework: • Finish Types of Propaganda Scavenger Hunt. • Brainstorm at least one Idea that you would like to see included On the ning. Also, consider how you as individual would like to contribute. • Monday: Get Ning-ified!!!! • Ning MEETING * Agenda Includes: • Brainstorming committees and goals • Envisioning and Establishing individual and group goals • Connecting ning to bigger objectives of media studies course.
