  3. Memory Verse “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not arisen a greater than John the Baptist: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” MATTHEW 11:11

  6. Respond to God’s Call A. How special was the calling of John the Baptist? Matthew 4:1-12 • John the Baptist’s mission and calling were prophesied • The Adventist church was called as God’s remnant church

  7. Respond to God’s Call • John became a man of prayer • We need a spiritual preparation to fulfill our special calling from God B. What kind of preparation did John the Baptist need for his special calling? Luke 1:15, 80

  8. STEP TWO PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL TO EVERYONE

  9. Proclaim the Gospel A. What message would John the Baptist bring to the people? Matthew 11:14 • The “Elijah message” is a phrase deep with meaning for SDAs. • “Elijah message”—Prepare to meet thy God

  10. Proclaim the Gospel B. What is the essence of John’s message? Luke 3:10-15 • John preached “a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins (Luke 3:3). • Being washed in the water symbolized the changed view of life, the fresh start

  11. SUMMARY • By responding to God’s call • By sharing the gospel to everyone WE CAN FULFILL GOD’S CALLING IN OUR LIVES
