The presenter(s): Brian Cosgrove The ask: Policy Decision: request CTG approval to approve Patient File Attachment functionality thru MyChart • Sponsor: MyChart Steering Committee • Scope: • Enable functionality which allows a patients to attach and send a document / file to UCSF thru a MyChart Patient Message • Timeline: Activation following CTG approval • Cost / Savings: Time spent by practice staff scanning and uploading documents to a patients chart. ~ 2 min / patient, 1-5 pages • Funding: Current operating budget
Summary • Strategic Drivers • Patient Satisfaction • Reduce Faxes / Paper coming into practice • Reduce Staff time scanning and uploading documents to APeX • Patient Satisfaction • Impacted Application Resources: MyChart • Target Completion: May 5, 2014 • Workflow • Patient uploads file via MyChart and sends to provider (This action creates a MyChart Encounter) • Encounter routes to the Department MyChart Pool (Document files to Outside Scanned Documents Tab in Chart Review) • Document Type: Patient Entered Attachment • Department MyChart Pool reviews document and ensures appropriate • If not appropriate for Chart, deletes document via Media Manager • If document needs reclassification, reclassifies in Media Manager • Audit Report of all uploads available for Medical Records
