Start skipping words. On the third or fourth sentence, let your eyes hit only key words and phrases. Key words are usually nouns or verbs. • 3. Read the last few sentences (or paragraphs). These will often summarize main ideas. • 4. Try to find the main idea and a few facts. Skimming gives you a general idea of content rather than specific details.
