  3. MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test. MAT has been administered by AIMA's since 1988 to facilitate B-schools. MAT is approved by AICTE and affiliated to universities. Ithas spread all over India as well as abroad. MAT test is held four months a year i.e. February, May, September and December. It is an objective type test, which delineates candidates general knowledge and aptitude. MAT is a 150 minutes paper pencil test and computer based test. Basically MAT test includes following 5 sections: • Language Comprehension • Mathematical Skills • Data analysis and Sufficiency • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning • India and Globe Environment What is MAT??

  4. MAT Exam Pattern MAT is conducted in two modes (computer based test/ paper based test). The usual MAT test contains 5 sections of testing. It is a 2hour and 30 minutes test containing 200 questions. Particular sections are divided according to number of questions and time limit. • Section A: Verbal ability containing 40 questions (30 minutes). • Section B: Quantitative aptitude containing 40 questions (40 minutes). • Section C: Data interpretation and data sufficiency containing 40 questions (35 minutes). • Section D: Reasoning ability which contains 40 questions (30 minutes). • Section E: General awareness containing 40 questions (15 minutes). • Verbal Ability: This section contains 40 Questions of 1 mark each with allotted time 30 minutes. It includes reading comprehension, sentence correction, sentence completion, analogies, antonyms and synonyms, paragraph completion and fill in the blanks.

  5. Quantitative Aptitude: This section contains 40 questions with time duration 40 minutes. It covers the topics Algebra, arithmetic, geometry and area mensuration. This section is contemplated as a scoring section. Data interpretation and data sufficiency: This sections contains not only the data interpretation and data sufficiency questions, it also contains quantitative questions. The section involves 40 questions to be solved within 35 minutes. This test is based on quantitative reasoning proficiency. Reasoning ability: This section contains logical and general reasoning of 40 question to be answered in 30 minutes. Reasoning covers the topics like blood relation, series completion , puzzles, coding decoding, arithmetic reasoning , etc. General awareness: This test measures the skill and current knowledge of candidates which assists in sprucing up the general awareness amongst candidates. This section contains 40 questions with time duration 15 minutes. Questions may depute current affairs.
