Each mention of "that" is a reference to the particular promise that he made earlier in the same verse. The four times he says, “I won’t do that” refers to: forget the way you feel right now forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight do it better than I do it with you, so long stop dreaming of you every night of my life At the end of the song, the female vocalist says two more things he will do: You'll see that it's time to move on You'll be screwing around Of course Meat Loaf responds with, “I won’t do that!” What is “that”? They assumed the song might cause some confusion, but due to the nature of Meat Loaf’s music it might not seem out of the norm.

  12. Why Why this song and musician I grew up listening to some of his songs and I remember seeing his album in my mom’s CD collection. And was horrified that such a pretty songs came from a scary looking album cover. I never knew who the singer was except his name. I remember I loved listening to a few of his songs and his voice was very comforting. Fast forward almost 2 decades and I saw him on Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump. I was able to link the music to a face. Since then I was able to learn more about him and his music. Meat Loaf on Celebrity apprentice
