  1. Environmental Science and Policy Club Michael Quibuyen President 2011 Higher Education Sustainability Conference

  2. Mission Statement • The CSULB Environmental Science & Policy Club is here to spread awareness, education, and appreciation of the environment as well as promote sustainability on/off campus. We are active within our local community and sponsor numerous events such as coastal clean-ups, hikes, plant-restoration projects, Earth Week & Earth day, festivals, conferences and guest speakers.

  3. Organizational Structure • Academic Organization tied to the Department of Environmental Science and Policy • Faculty Advisor is Paul Laris • Executive Officers: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Historian, Secretary. • Committees: Environmental Education and Community Outreach and Environmental Justice • Funding is provided through the department and ASI depending on the project.

  4. Membership • Students from all different backgrounds from Engineering to Design majors. • All with one common purpose, to learn about the environmental issues and what they can do to help. • Nature Hikes and Tours outside of campus to gain real world examples

  5. Projects • Adopt-a-Beach program with City of Long Beach • Urban Farm Demonstration on campus • Water Bottle Use Reduction and Water Conservation Efforts • Plastic Bag Reduction in the City of Long Beach • Planning process for Eco-Week in the Fall and Earth Week in the Spring
