Large Part Material Handling at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC)Researchers: John Nazemetz, Ph.D, Paul Rosser, Ph.D • Problem: • There is a demand for production space at OC-ALC that can be addressed by handling large parts more efficiently. Current large-part handling is done in customized or non-compliant trailers. • Objective: • To increase the material handling and space efficiency of large parts by designing and implementing a new transport and storage device. . • Methodology: • Develop a new transport and storage device to meet the needs of OC-ALC and have it implemented in their facility. • Targeted Benefit: • Any CELDi client that has large-part material handling issues could benefit from the implementation of a similar system.
