  2. What is a Skyscraper? • The Emporis Standards Committee defines a skyscraper as a multi-story building whose architectural height is at least or 330 ft • A high-rise building is defined as a multi-story structure between 12–39 floors.

How do you determine building height? • Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) sets the standards by which buildings are measured. • The council listed and ranked buildings in three categories: • height of structural or architectural top; • height of highest floor; • height to top of any part of the building.
