  2. Introduction • We will learn about… • Things to be careful in the group discussion exams • Assessment areas • How to understand and tackle the discussion tasks • How to get the discussion started

  3. Things to be careful in the group discussion exams • Preparation time: 2 minutes • Exam time : 8’00’’ – 10’00” (3 – 4 candidates) • The examiner will read the instructions to the candidates • X write during the 2-minute preparation time • Examiner: “You can start the discussion now.”

Things to be careful in the group discussion exams • No one starts within 15 seconds = everyone fails • Dead air for 20 seconds = everyone fails • Cantonese words / Foul language = (-2 marks out of 7 / failed right away) • Last 2 minutes – Examiner shows a card “2 minutes left” • When the time is up – Examiners collect the note card and the questions from the candidates
