Green Business Practices • Engineering firms are in a unique position to foster a sense of stewardship • As a wellness champion, consider how your firm supports ecological sensitivity. • Such practices may inspire employees to think about the earth (and their health)
21 THINGS TO DO • Create a logo/slogan contest for new “green” initiative • Buy plants or encourage employees to bring in plants • Contact utility company for free or low cost energy audits • Hang up posters around your office • Going Green Jeans Day • Calculate your environmental impact • Replace desk-side trashcans w/recycle bin • Find a recycling company to compost • Electronics recycling • Recycle one-sided, non-confidential paper • Put a bin in break rooms/near printers where employees can place empty toners and printer cartridges. Increase Awareness Reduce Recycle Eliminate disposable cups, plates, and cutlery Evaluate your coffee machines.
