You Ought To Be Ashamed…. …Not Having The Knowledge of God.
E N D
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …Not Having The Knowledge of God. “If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, ‘Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!’ Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits. Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; forsome do not have the knowledge of God.I speak this to your shame” (1 Cor. 15:32-34).
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …Going To Law Against A Brother. “Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?… If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!” (1 Cor. 6:1-8).
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …About Some Things That Are Spoken. “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret” (Eph. 5:11-12).
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …Those Who Refuse Instruction. “Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, But he who regards a rebuke will be honored” (Prov. 13:18). “For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.” (Matt. 13:15).
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …Those Who Answer A Matter Before Hearing. “He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to him.” (Prov. 18:13).
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …Those Who Are Lazy. He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame (Prov. 10:5). That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises (Heb. 6:12). Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need (Eph. 4:28).
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …Child Left To Himself. “The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.” (Proverbs 29:15). “My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother.” (Proverbs 1:8).
You Ought To Be Ashamed… …Those Who Mind Earthly Things. “For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame--who set their mind on earthly things” (Phil. 3:18-19). “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (Col. 3:1-2).
Cleansed Conscience = No Guilt or Shame How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Heb. 9:14) Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Rom. 6:3-4)
