Bell Work Tuesday • Back side: • Reread freewrite from yesterday, paying particular attention to who the audience is • Front side: • If this was a letter, who is the audience? • What strategies could you use to reach/appeal to the audience? • How would the audience respond to this issue? • Trade/Back side: • Partner: answer the above questions for partner’s freewrite • Partner: give suggestions—how can the author reach the audience and get the change he/she wants? • Return to owner
Bellwork Wednesday: • Read feedback from yourself and partner • On a new page: • Turn freewrite into a letter • Create an intro that reaches audience • Revise the body so audience understands your concern and your suggested plan • Create a conclusion that gives a final appeal to audience • After you complete your revised draft, • write a list of what you changed and explain why you made these changes.
7/8 Bell Work Thursday • Get together with your writer’s circle— • Take turns reading drafts aloud, • Provide a piece of positive feedback for each draft (author records his/her feedback from group) • Nominate one piece for the prize! • Give the nominated piece to Ms. P.
