Pay for a New Dentist • Dental Officer with less than 2 years • Regular Military Compensation: $71,858.23 • $3000 (VSP – everyone) • $10000(DASP – everyone – yearly contract) • Total $84,858.23 annual income
Pay for a Specialist • If dental officer has specialized and completed ADSO – at 6 years pay may be: • MAJ=$99,265.32 Average Regular Military Compensation • $7000 (VSP – everyone) • $12000(DASP – everyone – yearly contract) • $2500 (BSP – board certified specialists only) • $50000 (multi-year retention – specialists only) • Total $170,765.32 annual income

What Does the Scholarship Pay For? • 100% TUITION • BOOKS, FEES, AND DENTAL SCHOOL EXPENSES • $20,000 Sign on Bonus • MONTHLY STIPEND • $2,088 PER MONTH FOR 10 1/2 MONTHS • ARMY OFFICER PAY • 2LT PAY FOR REMAINING 45 DAYS • (Currently $6,086.46 for single soldier here in Twin Cities area)
What Does the Army Expect from YOU • ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE OBLIGATION • One year for each year you receive HPSP • COMISSION AS AN ARMY OFFICER. • Commission as a 2LT in the United States Army Medical Corps. • Upon graduation you will be promoted to Captain • FULL-TIME STUDENT • You are expected to be a full-time student.
What Does the Army Expect from YOU • ACTIVE DUTY TRAINING • 45 day Officer Basic Leadership Course • Train for 45 days during the summer in an Army dental facility.
