Bigot (noun) • One who is intolerant of differences in others • Think: Bigot = big idiot • Hitler was a bigot because he hated all other races besides his own.

Expunge (verb) • To erase or eliminate • I’ve heard a rumor that if you do something dumb when you’re very young, when you turn 18 your criminal record is expunged, but I don’t know if that is true.
Candid (adjective) • Outspoken; blunt; direct speech • “Can I speak candidly?” the mother asked the son. The son didn’t respond, so she said, “I just hate that new haircut you got.”
Argot (noun) • Special words used by a specific group of people • Mrs. Roy is excellent at speaking in her husband’s British argot; you’d think she lived in England before with the types of words she uses.
Negligence (noun) • Careless neglect often resulting in injury • Due to the father’s negligence, his baby put her finger in a socket while the father was napping.
Appease (verb) • To calm; to make satisfied for the time being • The child ate one pea to appease his mother who kept after him to eat his veggies. She calmed down after his one bite.
Strident (adj) • Harsh sounding; grating • Some people love the sound of marching bands, but I find their sounds strident especially the horns!
Chaos (noun) • Complete disorder • Miss Swanson’s desk is in complete chaos all the time, and it drives Mr. Schlenker crazy because he is so neat.
Augment (verb) • To enlarge; to increase in amount or intensity • Most people get nose jobs to shrink their noses, but not Mr. Rife. He wanted to augment his nose so it was larger than life!

Jingoism (noun) • Extreme, chauvinistic patriotism favoring aggressive warlike foreign policy • Frighteningly, the Neo-Nazis are still around and their strongest policy seems to be jingoism; they care most about loyalty to their cause and support fighting for their cause at all times.
