  2. Subject Origin The good point of acetone: 1.Higher Separation factor 2.More stable than anisole The weak point of acetone: Freezing point of complex compound close to normal temperature So acetone will be a good complex agent if we can solve the problem

  3. Subject Origin • Pour Point Depressant(PPD) • Allows diesel freezing point lower 15-30 ℃, to achieve the purpose of improving the low temperature flow of the diesel. • We could use an agent like PPD to reduce the freezing point of acetone·BF3

  4. The mechanism of PPD • 1. Nucleation theory • 2. Adsorption theory • 3. Eutectic theory • 4.Adsorption-eutectic theory • 5. Improve the solubility theory

  5. The require of acetone·BF3’s PPD • 1. stability • 2. withstand high temperature • 3. make the freezing point lower nearly 10 ℃

  7. Problems • 1. PPD usually is a macromolecular, and acetone·BF3is micromolecule, PPD may fail. • 2. The crystallize mechanism of acetone·BF3 is not clear. There are a lot of work to do if we want to find a new PPD.
