4. Objective: Determine the Effectiveness of Health Extension Workers on Antenatal Care Outcomes in Rural Ethiopia
Questions:
Determine effectiveness of HEWs within health posts and community
Compare differences among 2 comparable rural clinics in different regions
5. Methodology Study design:
Cross-sectional descriptive analysis of patients at two rural health outposts where HEWs have been working for one year
Study Instruments:
Health Facility Registers and Medical records
Collect data from patients admitted to the health post
Sample Survey
Conduct sample survey within kebele
6. Indicators Antenatal care coverage
Proportion of deliveries assisted by trained health worker (HEW or TBA)
Proportion of Maternal Deaths
