  1. Now that I realized creation was not that long ago – what more do I want to know?

  2. Creation – it just took 6 days • Day1: light; day and night • Day 2: expanse: “sky” separated water above and below • Day 3: land and seas; from the land → vegetation • Day 4: lights in the sky to separate day from night and to mark seasons; sun, moon, and stars • Day 5: living creatures from the waters and birds in the sky • Day 6: creatures from land, domestic and wild; and man • Day 7: God “rested” – and He blessed the 7th day

  3. Then? • God created the Garden of Eden • Placed MAN in it with full responsibilities as master over all creation • Everything was in harmony • No death

  4. Was there just one continent? • Genesis 1:9-10  • 9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

  6. What changed? • Sin came • Time started ticking • No more harmony • Death came • Everything and everyone became evil • God regretted – He wants to wipe everything out using water: The Flood

  7. After Sin

  8. Was there a mother of all floods? • Yes!!! - it came after Methuselah died • Genesis 6  11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. • Genesis 7 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.” . . . 10 And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.

  9. Did everyone know about the flood? • They did: • Noah told everyone about it • Lamech, Methuselah heard about it and told their children, their children’s children and grandchildren – and they did not believe it • Including Shem Ham, Japheth’s friends and their wives’ family and relatives • No one listened; anyway Lamech died trying and Methuselah did not live to see it

  10. Then the Flood came • Genesis 7 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights. . . 18 The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 19 They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. 20 The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits.

  11. Before the Flood http://the-latter-rain.com

  12. After the Flood http://the-latter-rain.com

  13. How long did the flood last? • One year • Genesis 7:   12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights . . . 17 For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. . . 24The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days. • Genesis 8 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

  14. How did the Ice Age occur? • Genesis 8 • 1 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.

  15. How did the Ice Age occur? • The “wind” • The temperature changes • The water redistribution • The meterologists, paleo and current, can explain more → the issue is it just took one year → today the ice are further melting • Only one event triggered it all

  16. Then what followed? • Man moved on • It took just around 1,700 years from the time of creation to the flood
