ROUND 1 REFLECTION • How did you feel at the beginning of the game? • How did you feel when you ran out of candy and had to sit down? • What tactics could you have used to get back into the game? (Steal, bargain, buy someone off, lie) • Was the game fair? • What could the teacher have done to make it fair and should she do it?

  7. Capitalism: An economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit. Socialism: A political and economic system in whichproduction (factories), distribution, and exchange should be controlled (often by a government). Communism: A political and economic theory by Karl Marx, advocating class struggle and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. (Classless society)

  8. COMMUNISM in the 1900s • Because of the influence of the Socialist Revolution in Russia in 1917, many leaders claimed to be socialist, when really they were not. (they had some features of socialism, but not many) • These leaders include… • Josef Stalin – the dictator of the USSR • Mao Zedong – the chairman of Communist China • Fidel Castro – the President of Cuba • THE MAJOR THING IN COMMON IS THAT THE GOVERNMENT IN COMMUNIST COUNTRIES IN THE 1900s OWNED ALL INDUSTRY, FACTORIES, ETC.
