Water Sampling • A dirty job but somebody’s got to do it • We collected 8 different water samples from nearby areas, such as ponds, wetlands, swamps, and rivers. • We also did on sight hand drillin’ (9 feet 1 inch and 2 hours to be exact) to determine the water quality of the water table.
Water Quality • We ran several tests on the surface and well water samples, some of which include pH, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity(E.C.), and temperature. • These tests determined the acidity, the amount of dissolved solids, and the vegetation growth in Stranahan Arboretum.
Conclusions • The rain water was acidic and the well water was slightly basic. • The wetlands had low dissolved oxygen due to the substantial plant life. • In our tests we concluded that as we approached the pond the given parameters were directly proportional to the distance.
