The final frontier...These are the voyages of SPOC.Its continuing mission:To align college planning with strategic goals,AQIP, institutional data,budget development,and resource allocationin order to effectively plan,implement, and assessquality improvement projectsto achieve KCC’s FY 09-13Strategic Goals.

  2. This will require an expedition of discovery…“To explore strange new worlds...To seek out new life; new civilizations...To boldly go where no one has gone before!”Captain Picard, Star Trek

  3. You have been chosento take the maiden voyagewith SPOC…(Strategic Planning Oversight Committee)who will guide and leadthis important expedition.

  4. The Quest of SPOC: * review and integration (as needed) of FY2007-2011 strategic initiatives * review of data from data collected from internal and external scans (and feedback solicited from employees) * assessment of the Strategic Planning Oversight process itself * periodic updates to the college president, cabinet, KCC staff, and Board of Trustees * alignment with strategic goals, AQIP/accreditation standards, the assessment of institutional effectiveness, budget decision-making, and analysis of predicted trends in district demographics and the labor market.

  5. Are You Ready? This is not for the weak at heart. It will take vision, passion and commitment to the mission.

  8. Galaxy 1 (subcommittee) Sustainability Grow sustainability initiatives as a local and regionally recognized feature of the College

  9. Galaxy 2 (subcommittee) Community Outreach Strengthen community outreach through strategically developing partnerships and target marketing

  10. Galaxy 3 (subcommittee) Morale and Training Promote effective hiring and increase morale through strong professional/ staff development

  11. Galaxy 4 (subcommittee) Student Services Benchmark and promote best practices in all aspects of student services and student success

  12. Galaxy 5 (subcommittee) Alignment Align college strategic planning linking facility plans, budgeting, resources and institutional effectiveness

  13. Galaxy 6 (subcommittee) Curriculum Improve curriculum development

  14. And you ...an officer of your assigned committee,now with the important purpose toreport to SPOC your committee’sprogress and transformationof the College toward its goal.
