Public prayer for the Repose of the Dead (Requiem) Prayers for the repose of the dead are forbidden in the Passion Week, so after the liturgy on Palm Sunday, the church performs a public requiem.
The Holy Pascha • 5 morning hours/5 evening hours. • Prophecies and written sermons. • Thok teti Gom x 12 times (Revelation 4,5,7) • Tuesday , 11th hour ( my Good Saviour ) • Friday evening, 1st hour (The Lord is my strength) • Psalm + Gospel ( Coptic / English or Arabic ) • In the evening abouna’s sermon. • End of prayers.

Wednesday = Job Types of hearts.

The big Thursday • The day when Jesus gave the disciples the Sacrament of the Holy Communion • Remember Judah and Mary. • Judah’s procession.
Before the communion….. but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:7-8
Why did Jesus form this sacrament on Thursday? • Since He will die on the cross and leave us, He wanted to unit us in Him forever. Is it real body and blood? • Incarnation : Jesus ( the creator) turned the divine nature to human nature. • The Eucharist sacrament , Jesus (the creator) , turned the bread and wine into divine nature.
Liturgy • No hour prayers with psalms – since we already prayed 3rd 6th and 9th hours of the pascha. • No : Halleluiah this the day , waiting for the resurrection. • No readings :CATHOLIC EPISTLE , THE PRAXIS( as evangelism started after resurrection) • No “Synaxarion” , we are only remembering Jesus during the Holy week. • No PRAYER OF RECONCILIATION • No COMMEMORATION OF THE SAINTS • During the HOLY COMMUNION, no psalm 150 but the 11th hour.

It is the night , when we cross from death to life. • All hymns , with tones sad/joyful. • All praises is about crossing from distress to joy.
Many praises from OT and NT • Many joyful processions.
We read about our heavenly Jerusalem, and how our eternity will be.
"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
"Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
