-The Punishment of this circle is when the souls have to lay down and let the nasty water rain on them.- A man by the name Ciacco sits up and starts to talk to Dante.-Dante talks with him about politics in Florence when Ciacco predicts a harsh political future for Florence. -Before Ciacco lays back down he asks Dante to remember his name.-Dante ask Virgil about the Last judgments. -Virgil says that is will be perfect.
New Character in Canto VI • Cerberus- A three headed dog- that has “vermilion eyes” he would “tear the spirits, flay them, and rend them.” (which means he tortured them) • Ciacco- He was a former resident of Florence. He was in the 3rd circle because of Gluttony.
The 3rd circle of Hell • This circle is for the gluttons. • They are punished because the had to much of something: either its food or something else. • The souls are required to lay down and a nasty rain would continually rain on them.
Scenery on the 3rd circle. This is a visual example of what a glutton might do. This is rain, but imagine it smelling really bad and it coming down on you. (Eww)
Picture of the Inferno This is a great way to visualize the Inferno!
