Functions of DVB-IP • Protocol transfer The DTV programs which input as multiple program TS (MPTS) are first demultiplexed into single program TS (SPTS), and then packed into IP packages according RFC 2250. • SI parser and extraction The Service Information (SI) multiplexed in DTV programs are extracted as meta data for XML-based EPG server • Scalability This gateway is designed based on PICMG 2.16, and the above functions are accomplished by payload board which can push 6 SDTV programs into IP network. Each payload board works alone, and total 17 payload boards.
