Our Aims Regional Development Project • To speak for neurological community with an authoritative and unitedvoice • A network of RNA’s across England • Support new RNA’s to establish and existing RNA’s to strengthen
Why have an RNA? Regional Development Project • Policy Set nationally - priorities determined locally • Local services, local people with local knowledge • Statutory duty to engage and involve • Easier for local commissioners to talk with one organisation • RNA better placed to contribute…….. …One credible, united group speaks with a louder voice and is better heard
SWNA – Why we’re here Mission statement • To improve the lives of all those affected by neurological conditions in Swindon & Wiltshire. Aims • To influence and inform commissioners and providers of neurological services in Swindon and Wiltshire • To raise awareness and profiles of all neurological conditions to improve understanding amongst the general public, service commissioners and health and social care professionals. • To work closely with the national Neurological Alliance, local organisations and local branches of national organisations in an integrated way to maximise outcomes and minimise duplication of activity. • To reach out as a partnership in a proactive manner to those who find it difficult to access existing services and support groups.
