  2. Background • Safety is the cornerstone • The Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system: A vital component • In Power Production, more than 24,000 clearances per year across a database of 47,000 devices. • LG&E and KU stations combined policies in 2008 • Current system 15+ years old

  3. Why change? • The current system is not as reliable • Vendor no longer supports the current system • New technologies are available • Safety of our employees and contractors is paramount!
