BUDGET HEARINGS: MCWH & N • Reduce infant & child mortality & morbidity • fortification of foods with micro-nutrients • immunization - increasing coverage, improving quality • implementation of management guidelines - genetic conditions • prevention of substance abuse includes FAS, drugs • prevention and management of child abuse and neglect - Road to Health Card • implementation of maternal care guidelines

MCWH & NUTRITION • Human resources for intersectoral collaboration • PPAs variable in various provinces • Capacity in provinces is variable, with provinces with tertiary institutions being more self-sufficient • Deficiency in human, material & financial resources • Surveillance officers for stool management in AFP • Community mobilization skills limited • Lack of senior management support for some programmes • Institutional lack of enthusiasm
