  4. Authorities still taking FLAs Aberdeenshire Glasgow Angus Highland Argyll & Bute Inverclyde City of Edinburgh North Ayrshire Dundee North Lanarkshire East Renfrewshire Orkney Falkirk Perth & Kinross W Dunbartonshire

  5. Authorities nolonger taking FLAs • 17 authorities • of which 7 took assistants in 2008-09 • 22/32 > 15/32

  6. Looking ahead – promoting the best use of assistants British Council Scotland/Scottish CILT/LTS in consultation with cultural institutes: • Curriculum for Excellence embedded into induction meetings • Good practice case studies + dissemination • November workshop • Other ideas?
