  8. About the Academy • Incorporated in 1976 • Certified the first CFSPs in 1978 • Governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the membership • More than 2,200 members world-wide • More than 450 Lifetime members • 1540 active CFSPs with more than 2100 certified in our history

Step 1: Join • Fill out the membership application • Submit application fee or a Lifetime fee • You will receive a welcome email with your log in credentials so you can begin immediately • Then you’ll receive a new member welcome kit with step by step instructions and everything you need to begin your journey

  12. Before we get started… • CEU • Continuing Education Unit • 55 minutes of activity = .1 CEU • Transcript • Activities are posted to the transcript • Categories • A – Academic • B – Professional • C – Career Review • D – Public Education and Service

Step 2: Career Review 5.4 CEUs Credit for … • Experience between licensure and joining the Academy including: • Seminars, conventions, and articles • Membership and committee work • Training of others (interns and staff) • Contributions to community • Degree work before licensure Credits are awarded once in this category

  16. Step 3: Tell us what you are doing Online activity reporting • Reporting online is easy • No categorization is necessary • Print reports of all activities submitted online • Receive an email when the activity is posted

  22. And then… 18 CEUs … you are a CFSP! CFSPs may use the designation on: • Business letterhead • Business cards • Web sites and other publications

  23. And to continueto use the CFSPdesignation… 2 CEUs CFSPs must annually: • Pay their renewal unless they are a Lifetime member • Earn 2 CEUs (20 hours) per year • Excess CEUs are carried forward to the next year’s transcript
